Day 27: Work Towards Your Goals

ae0becfa4b90b8e1ab539da089ff2d41I’m a huge fan of goals and getting organised. I like short term goals, long term goals and anything in between. I’ve got a constant to-do list on the go and I like to plan ahead and work out my battle plan! I get a huge amount of security from know what I’ve got to do and how I will be able to do it. Of course it’s not a foolproof and things don’t always go exactly as per my well rehearsed plans… but having my plans and goals easily accessible really helps to make sure I’m thinking to the future and not getting too stuck in the present.

One of my favourite tips around goal setting was given to me by my secondary school headteacher who recommended starting your to-do list with something you’ve already done or will be able to complete quickly. That way, you’re already making progress and you’re starting with a positive mind set!

Maybe as we’re coming to the end of #SelfCareSeptember, revisit any new years resolutions and see where you are with them, make your goals SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and achievable) and rethink them if you’re struggling to work towards them!
